Displaced families face a cold winter
After enduring years of war, conflict and persecution, people now face harrowing conditions as a bitter, cold winter sets in. As temperatures plummet, families forced to flee struggle to survive in inadequate shelters — from leaking tents to freezing caves and bombed-out buildings.
Winter is always harsh, but this year the need is greater than ever. Families from Afghanistan, Syria and Ukraine are returning to their homelands with nothing to shield them from the snow and icy winds. Elsewhere, in countries such as Jordan, Lebanon and Moldova, displaced families are still struggling to endure winter far from home.
UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is on the ground delivering lifesaving aid — but we cannot do it without you. Your support can provide:
- Heaters and fuel
- Warm clothing and blankets
- Weatherproof shelters and essential repairs
This winter is colder than ever for those who have lost everything. Please help us bring warmth, protection and hope. Donate today.
